The Indo-Bangladesh border has become hot once again. Alarmed by reports of the presence of Al Qaeda terrorists and isi agents in Bangladesh, the bsf intends to deploy more forces along the border. According to additional director-general (east) A.K. Mitra, 31 more companies will be deployed along the border with immediate effect. The bsf is also planning to raise 78 more battalions and a majority of these will be deployed along the eastern borders.
The beefing up of the border comes after intelligence reports spoke of Dhaka harbouring insurgent groups from the Northeast and Al Qaeda terrorists.
