Policy Reforms Recognise Capabilities Of Indian Defence Industry, Says NSAB Chief

NEW DELHI: Last week’s announcement of several policy reforms in the defence and space sector, is a result of a detailed study undertaken by the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) and National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) to encourage Make in India in these two domains over the past six months. The creation of a negative import list for defence items is the recognition of the Indian industry’s capability in designing and manufacturing world class weapons platforms for the Indian military, says NSAB chairman PS Raghavan in this exclusive interview with our Editor-in-Chief Nitin A.
